The Chimera originates from Greek mythology as a horrific creature with the body of a lion, a goat’s head, and a snake tail. In the modern-day, it’s used as a term to describe an object or organism with different parts combined or genetic codes from more than one parent. Also in language usage, it’s used to describe something that’s hoped for but cannot be achieved, an illusion.
